Our First Flip!

John and I found a condo for sale earlier this year that was a "fixer upper" and therefore priced insanely cheap. So we bought it! After 4 weeks of fixing the place up, we put it on the market and sold it in less than a week!
We are really excited and proud about our project! John did a lot of the construction/ renovation work(with the help of a crew), and I took care of the staging, advertising, and selling (with the help of my mom!) and we did it! We just closed today with the new buyers! Here are some pictures of the finished product. We didn't think to take "before" pictures, but trust me, it was one hot mess!

Blast From The Past- Part 2

I've decided to do another blast from the past and post some of my favorite pictures of John when he was just a little guy. These pictures make me smile! Hope you enjoy them...

Sometimes in life, you have to stop and smell the roses...

John's traumatic first haircut (Don't you just love the look on that ladies face! She looks a little "put out")

Cheesy Cheese! (You gotta love those 80's bowl hairdos!)

Sleepy Baby. (Doesn't look like a very comfortable position)

Work Work Work...

This has been a very busy work week! Busy, but good. Earlier this week, I received my award from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)in the mail. That made me VERY happy! Back in April, I found out that I won an award for a communication campaign that I submitted earlier this year. For those of you who may not know, I work in Public Relations/ Corporate Communciations for a large health insurance company in Florida.
Here are some pictures from work and of my award (Can you tell I'm a little excited about the award???)

Take Your Child To Work Day

Part of my busy work week included facilitating a "Take Your Child To Work Day" workshop for 40 kids between the aged of 8 and 15.
In my job, we produce a lot of videos so we came up with the theme "Lights, Camera, Action" and let the kids learn how to use the video equipment, be on camera, etc. It was a fun day. Tiring, but fun! Here are some pictures of some of the cute kids we had in our workshop...

Blast From The Past!

I was cleaning/ organizing my unbelievably cluttered closet the other day and I came across these hysterical old pictures of my mom and me. It looks like my dad was playing a little practical joke one morning and decided to take a picture of my mom and me camping out in our living room in what appears to be a house we just moved in to. What's hysterical about this picture is that I still look like that in the morning! Lucky John! And my mom would probably have a coronary if she knew I posted this picture of her with no make up on for the entire world to see! But we'll keep this our little secret!

Vacation

I am officially ready for a vacation right about now! John and I have a cruise planned with his parents and his sister Emily in September but September can't seem to get here fast enough! I wish our cruise were happening on July 13, 2007.

In addition to our cruise we are planning to go to Equador sometime in November. John served his mission is Equador and he just can't wait to take me there! I'll be sure to take tons of pictures because I'm sure you're all dying to see how I do in a place like Equador! John is very lucky he has such an adventurous wife!

Anyway, here are some pictures of my favorite vacations. Is anyone going any place exciting this summer?

Filet-O-Fish

I've recently discovered "you tube" and very recently discovered this hilarious ad by McDonalds (thanks Krystal!)
As many of you know, my degree is in Advertising and I can be pretty discriminating when it comes to ads I see, however, I have to give this one two enthusiastic thumbs up! Good work McDonalds.
What do you think?

Happy 4th of July!

Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays, not only for the fireworks and red white and blue sugar cookies, but also because it gives us a chance to really reflect on how much we have to be grateful for. We live in a land of incredible opportunity and freedom. I am very happy and proud to be an American!
This year for the 4th, we went to the beach with a bunch of friends to watch the fireworks. The weather was a bit dreary but it didn't rain and that's the important thing! There were still fireworks! It was a lot of fun.

John and some of the guys were playing this game I couldn't quite figure out. Looked exciting though.

All the girls and a few really cute babies!
