Happy Birthday John!

John's birthday was Friday and we celebrated by going out to dinner to the Seafoam Room at my parents club. This is one of John's favorite places and we go anytime my parents are feeling generous enough to pay! It's right on the ocean and has a beautiful view and very good food!
John's 28 and now officially an old man! He counts his blessings every day that he has such a young wife!

Flip #2: Before and After

John and I finally finished our rehab of our second investment property that we plan to flip. Our original timeline of 2 weeks became 4 weeks due to a few unexpected things that came up. Cruise to the Bahamas

We just got home yesterday from our cruise to the Bahamas and it was so much fun! The Bahamas has to be one of my favorite places on Earth! We went with John's parents and his sister Emily. It was their first cruise and they loved it! I definitely recommend Royal Caribbean to everyone!

The weather was absolutely beautiful the entire time we were there. We came home to quite the opposite though. The rain was coming down in sheets in Jacksonville yesterday. John had to go to work right when we got home, so Emily and I met him for lunch. It was quite an adventure driving through the unbelievably flooded streets! This was Jacksonville Beach after about 2 hours of rain. I've never seen flooding like this in my life! It made for pretty cool pictures though!

Movies of the week- Bourne Ultimatum and Stardust

John and I saw two movies this week that I'd strongly recommend.

1. Bourne Ultimatum: We saw this movie on Labor Day and LOVED IT! I think it's the best of the three Bourne movies! I'd see it again! I'd definitely recommend seeing it if you like intense, action packed movies and if you like looking at Matt Damon!

2. Stardust: If you don't like action movies, I'd recommend Stardust. This is a movie that I probably wouldn't have seen if it didn't come highly recommended to us by John's sister. This kind of movie typically doesn't appeal to me (fantasy) but John and I saw it last night and really liked it! It was a very heart-warming story that the whole family can enjoy. There were a lot of well-known actors in it like Claire Daines, Michelle Pfeiffer, Robert Deniro, etc. I really enjoyed it!

Quinn turns 2

Since John and I don’t have any children yet, I'm going to brag on my adorable nephew Quinn (My stepsister Samantha's son). He just turned 2 and I can't believe how fast he's growing up! Samantha and her husband Mann live up in Boston so we don’t get to see the little guy as much as we would like but I've made it a point to make sure Quinn remembers his aunt Lindsay. He's going to forever remember me as the push over aunt that will give him anything he wants! Every time he comes down to visit, I let him play with my cell phone (which he's not allowed to do at home) and he loves it! He even knows the sign for phone! (he puts his hand up to his little ear) It's sooo cute! Every time he sees me, he puts his hand up to his ear letting me know to hand over the phone immediately. Every time he sees John he stares in awe and smiles at everything he does. Kids LOVE John! And Quinn thinks he's the coolest thing since peanut butter and jelly! And I'm beginning to think that Quinn only likes me because I let him play with my phone! Anyhow, here are some pictures of Quinn's birthday celebration weekend up in Cape Cod. Flip #2

A few weeks ago, John found a great deal on yet another "fixer upper" house that we've been seriously considering buying. After much thought, we decided to buy it, fix it up, and sell it. We had so much fun on our first flip; we're very excited to do another one! On Friday afternoon, we closed on the house and today we began our extensive work on renovations. I think I've spent more time in Lowe's and Home Depot yesterday and today than I have in my entire life! But I think we've got everything we need and we made a lot of progress on the house on our first day! It's a really fun process to renovate a home! It's very fulfilling to take a neglected property and make it a really nice place for someone to live! Its hard work, but very gratifying.
The house is in Murray Hill (West Jacksonville) and it's a very cute house in a cute little neighborhood. It just needs a little love! I took pictures of the house and I was going to post some but I think I am going to wait until we're done with our renovations to show you the "before" and "after" pictures at the same time. So stay tuned for those! We hope to be finished in about 2 weeks. Right in time for our vacation! Perfect timing, I'm sure we'll need it!
