I just finished reading our book club book for the month of November,The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield (Click here to learn about the book) and I LOVED IT SO MUCH that I decided to dedicate a blog post/ book review about it. I chose this book for this month after hearing how great it was from my friend and fellow book clubber, Patti. (Thanks Patti!) And I am glad that I did! It was so good, I couldn't put it down and I finished all 416 pages in a week! I have to be the slowest reader EVER and rarely am I immediately grabbed by a book like I was this one. I'm a little ADD at times and if a book doesn't grab my interest within the first 30 pages or so, I tune out!
This book is one of the few books that I can actually say grabbed my attention almost immediately and the ending DEFINITELY DOES NOT DISAPPOINT! It's an Eerie, fascinating tale full of mystery and intrigue. That's all I will say!
It's not too late to join in our book club fun and start reading the book now. Book Club is at my house on Nov 20. You all need to go check The Thirteenth Tale out TODAY! And by "you all" I mean Amber Kirk- join in our book club this month! You can borrow my book now that I'm done! And anyone else whose interested,(Jessica, Amyee, Paula, Rebecca) you know you want to! Come to book club and let's talk about his intriguing tale!
Have any of you already read this book? What did you think?

Biker Babes!
Yes, those are black leather pants I'm wearing, black finger nail polish on my nails and a FAKE Harley Davidson tattoo on my arm! Yes, John is wearing an orange bandanna on his head and has flames on his t-shirt! Friday Night was our Fall Festival at our church and last year, we got SHOWED UP by everyone because they all dressed up and we didn't! This year, John and I were biker babes! Don't we look tough! My thinking behind choosing these costumes was this... What would people LEAST EXPECT to see us dress up as? And this was what came to mind! Much different from our usual "conservative" style of dress! I thought you'd get a kick out of the pictures.
And the bike belongs to our friends Eric and Amy! Isn't it SWEET! It matched my red earrings PERFECTLY!!!

What will our kids look like?
I often wonder what our kids will look like when John and I have children. Now my question has been answered! I found this website from Jill's blog a while ago called makemebabies.com and by simply uploading pictures of you and your spouse, it shows you what your kids will look like! What I want to know is WHY DO ALL OUR KIDS HAVE SUCH LARGE FOREHEADS?!?! Take a look... It's pretty funny!

Happy Birthday Robert!
Yesterday was Robert's (John's brother's)birthday and I couldn't resist posting pictures of the ADORABLE little birthday party that his girlfriend, Amanda threw for him! From the looks of all the decor, flowers and everything, you'd think this was the big 30 or another big milestone year but no, just regular old 28! I thought it was cute! She's so good to him! Here are a few pics...
Robert and Amanda
And here's John having a GRAND time playing Robert's new PlayStation 3- Amanda's present to Robert. He's going to want one of these now!
Happy Birthday Rob!

Quirky
This should hand you all a big laugh at my expense! Thanks Em T. for requesting this info. Here are 8 quirky things about me.
Quirk 1- I wear tank tops under my all my shirts.
You will never find me without a tank top on underneath my shirt. Even on the HOTTEST days of summer, even when I go to the gym! I just always do, I don't know why. Subconsciously, I believe it makes the shirt look better on me and makes my stomach look flatter (even though it probably doesn't!) I'm crazy, I know!
Quirk 2- I DIE laughing whenever people trip, stub their toe, etc.
This one I'm going to have to blame on my mom! Ever since I can remember, she has always laughed her head off at people like this (as soon as she finds out they're not REALLY hurt of coarse). Naturally, I would join in and it has been a BAD HABIT of mine ever since! My step dad (who is British) would always tell us "You shouldn't laugh at other people's misfortunes" in his strong British accent. This made us laugh even harder! John used to get SO MAD at me when I would laugh at him when he stubbed his toe or almost tripped on something when we first got married! I've had to fight the urge with him over the years to keep the peace!
Quirk 3- I say "like" and "you know" ALL THE TIME.
What can I say, old habits die hard! This has been a problem of mine since high school.
Quirk 4- I always smell food before I eat it.
My roommates in college pointed this out to me and I don't know WHY I do it, I just have to do it!
Quirk 5- I have an UNUSUALLY strong sense of smell.
I can smell ANYTHING from a mile away!
Quirk 6-I leave half drank beverages ALL OVER THE HOUSE.
It seems like I am always thirsty so I am always drinking something but I ALMOST NEVER finish the whole drink. This drives John crazy so finally, we started buying those half pint water bottles and those seem to work well for me.
Quirk 7- Wherever I am, I fall asleep at approx. 10 p.m. EVERY NIGHT.
I get so tired at night! Once 10p.m. roles around, I'm READY FOR BED! But make no mistake, I'm no morning person either! I'm a "middle of the day person" aka LAZY!
Quirk 8- I have an obsession with mirrors.
Every time I pass a mirror, I have to look in it. I'm always checking myself out in reflective, shiny objects too! It's not because I'm vain! They're just like a magnet to my eyes! And I'm always worried about what I look like so go figure!
So there you have it! 8 quirks about Lindsay! So give them to me!
What are your biggest quirks?

North Carolina
Beautiful view from the mountain we hiked (part of the Appalachian Mountains)
Waterfalls
Our tour guides Robert and Mary Lane (John's boss's parents who have a mountain cabin in Sapphire Valley, where we stayed)
At the cabin with the pups, Charlie and Holly
Here's Holly fast asleep on our bed! She just couldn't get enough of us I guess!
Cute little store where we bought THE BEST homemade caramel cake
The store owner had a pet pot-belly pig named Biscuit at the store!
Biscuit was on a special diet of apples only!
Of coarse I had to feed him!
Gorgeous views from the mountain

John and me at Calhoun's
Catching up at the house
This was our room. How cute! I'm lovin the Tarkay painting over the bed! Marlene won that at the Art auction from the Cruise we went on last year. I think it went perfectly with this room!

Bold & Beautiful
Wednesday night, I went to my friend Julie's baby shower that was thrown by my other friend Jessica. Julie and Jessica serve in Young Women's with me as the Beehive and Mia Maid Advisers and we always have so much fun team teaching all together! They have definitely helped to teach me the ropes!
Let me tell you, this was the baby shower OF ALL BABY SHOWERS! Jessica has SUCH GREAT STYLE and did a BEAUTIFUL JOB! She didn't go with the typical baby pastel colors, she went ALL BOLD girly colors with a "Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice" theme. It was FABULOUS! And OF COARSE I took pictures! Here are a few...
Here's Julie in front of the refreshment tables. Have you ever seen such a BEAUTIFUL pregnant girl??? And she's even more beautiful on the inside! Julie is having her first girl! She will be welcomed by three older brothers and a proud daddy!
Julie and Jessica, the host of this fabulous shower
The beautiful tables
Table centerpieces
This was a party favor. It's shower gel. You probably can't read the print but it says
"Thanks for coming to Julie's shower... Now go enjoy a shower of your own!!"
How CUTE is that!?!
Julie, me and Daisy (Daisy is also in YW with us. She's the First Counselor)
And here's Julie with her husband Russ and her ADORABLE kids (L-R) Cole, Mason and Parker. This was taken on another night when they came over for dinner. Her boys are the most WELL BEHAVED kids we know! They are SO SWEET and can't wait to meet their new baby sister in a few weeks! I can't wait to meet her either!
